tomorrow

Tomorrow is my last day of treatment! I should finish about 2:00. The radiation starts at 1:30 and lasts about a half an hour. It will be a very welcome ending. I have been feeling pretty terrible lately. I threw up 5 times yesterday and once two hours ago. I actually started this blog then had to go take a break. I don't know what is causing all this but I can't wait for it to go away.

Thanks to all the people cheering me on. It will still be a little bit of a challenge after all this is over, but at least i can rest all the time. It will take a little while for my mouth to heal up, but hopefully the healing process goes quickly.

Steve

Be strong! You're there!

Hmmm, what could be causing the nausea? Could it be all of those caustic chemicals flowing through your veins? Or maybe the thought of returning to the study of the very depressing economy? Or, you are prematurly getting ready to purge in order to fit one more Filiburto's burrito in.

Nope, it is knowing there is going to be a liberal Democrat in the White House just about the time you are completely better.

I'll be thinking of you at 2 tomorrow! I vote that you keep the blog going at least until you can taste and keep down that Filiberto's burrito!

you have no idea the pride I have from the fact that you are my brother. Tonight I had to lead a women's self confidence group and I made them name characteristics of the person they most admire. Pete and Poppie are usually at the top of my list but tonight all I could think about was you (that puts you in pretty good company). You have been amazing throughout all this and I am so proud of you. I love you so much and congratulations on getting to the end.

Great news. Now let the healing process in which you can actually start feeling better begin...I second the vote to see this blog through the first burrito. We are so proud of you

Congratulations, Steve.
I feel lucky to have been able to follow your progress through this blog. Thanks for sharing it all. I'm looking forward to seeing you in person soon and examining the many ways in which your uncle's stomach-turning prediction cannot be correct.

Hey Baby Doll,

I will be ringing my bell the afternoon, twice, maybe even three times. There were days that I thought this day would not get here fast enough.....but it's here. I kept thinking to myself, not today, not tomorrow, but the next day. That's how Patrick would be a Christmas time (ok, so well he still probably does, but that's why we all love him so much).

We toasted you last night, in fact it was the first toast of three. The second toast was that Mary Beth's belly button finally popped out, and then of course Moochie's birthday.

Last night was no different that any other, you are always first and foremost on our minds.

We ended up at the Big Bang (?) in Tempe. They called Moochie up to the stage and had her sit on the piano, then asked all the men in the bar to circle the stage, and they sang "you've lost that loving feeling"....a great scene from "Top Gun". Your grandma did a great job.

I know we pick on Stanley a lot, but at one point in the night, they called Mary Beth and Danny on stage to dance to YMCA.....Mary Beth 8 months pregnant danced as if she was still an
ASU coed and looked darling...but Danny had a difficult time making the letters for YMCA. It would have made you laugh...or perhaps more appropriately, vomit.

Moochie and I are so excited to visit and cook some of the meals on your top ten....but we will give you some time to heal and relax hopefully.

I pray that today goes by quickly and uneventful for you baby. I am so proud to call you my nephew....I'll love you for always..soft kiss on the cheek, and give Jen a kiss and hug for me.

Love,
Aunt Lynnie

P.S. Congrats to your Dad, Mom, Dop and Breadie for also passing a giant milestone...all my love.

Moke -
Let me be the first . . .oh, well . . . the 7th person to congratulate you on a fight well fought, and courageously fought. I think it was JFK in his book "Profiles in Courage" (which I never read)who defined courage as "grace under pressure." "Pressure" greatly understates what you've been through over these past months, and "grace" doesn't do justice to the way you've handled all of this. Even though you were the one suffering through all the pain, frustration, and disappointments your postings gave all of us on the sidelines updates, and a way to feel we were helping. You have certainly set a tremendous example for all of us.
I agree with Dop - you're a real champ, and I'll always look to your example as a mark of how to face adversity with grace. Congratulations, Moke, you're nearly there. Love, Greg

I too will be ringing a bell at three. We all decided last night, no matter what we were doing at 3:00 we would stop and ring a bell signaling the end of this race.

Bells are ringing everywhere.....Any possible way of sneaking a little champagne through Peg?

Love you so, my sweet little Moke.
