For those of you with Seattle U. connections, I recently received an email from the man you know as DJ Fraggle Rock (Reuben Joseph). As many of you may know Reuben is now in Iraq and was recently interviewed by a local Seattle tv station. I thought you would enjoy watching this. The first link is what actually aired and the second link is a complete interview with "Frags."
For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, Reuben was on the Seattle U track and cross-country team with me, and was also a DJ. If you remember an earlier post, he is the one who was running up and down the halls of a hotel at 2 in the morning after a meet screaming "Who got a Playstation!" Since he had met some other people he challenged to a game on the Playstation and wanted to settle the score.

Hey Moke,
Just wanted to share your horoscope with you today:Your vim and vigor inspire others. Your ability to scan a situation comes through one more time. Allow more creativity and spirit into your life. Tonight, know that you are the cat's meow and act like it.
Love you too much.
Hey Steven, I was following a car home today with a bumper sticker that read, "My child is warrior of the month at Tomahawk Elementary." Whoever led the cry to change Seattle U's Chieftains name, which I don't get how that was offensive,to the Red Hawks needs to get wind of the Tomahawk Warriors. On another note, I am still getting requests for a Jenny photo. Don't be shy. Jean
Hey TT we won 11-4 yesterday against Mountain Pointe, and I got to play for a little while. We play Chapparal on Saturday in the State championship. And I can get my permit tomorrow. Scary, huh?
Ryan,
Your permit comment makes me feel extremely old. I still remember you as the little kid telling us how you liked motorcycles when we met you in Idaho.
Good luck in the state LAX championship. Have you considered Maryland?
Brian
Ya, Maryland woud be an awesome school to go to. I saw them play in Baltimore earlier this year. I never went to College Park, but I liked that area. Is that where youwent to school?
Hey Baby,
I sure miss not being down in Tucson with you on the weekends. I know things have been a bit rough lately, but we have used the analogy of running often, and liken this to a tough part of a run. Sounds trivial, but you know the difficulty of that challenge better than anyone.
Greg and I along with your mom and dad, saw Ryan in a lacrosse game on Saturday. He looks so young in comparison to the rest of the team.
He got in the last part of the game, and did really well.
He looks so much like you when he is out there. That same competitive spirit.
Stay strong, Steve, please know that not a minute goes by that I don't think of you. I love you so so much.....Just keep lifeguard tower 11 and Sarah's in mind. It won't be long.
Hi Steve,
It has been too long since I last left a comment on your blog. I do think of you and pray for you daily. How are you feeling? Afe you able to eat anything yet? Please drop us a line to let us know how you are doing. Did you see any of the Pope's trip to the U.S. on television? I tried to view as much of it as I could. It was truly an inspirational week! His love and the truth of his words really shone forth. I sure do love you Steve. Hang in there! Keep on blogging. I hope that maybe we can visit this summer. In the meantime. take care. God bless you.
Love,
Aunt Diane
Hey Steven,
Just back from the gym and thought I would do some emailing, blog posting, JOB HUNTING, etc. ;) We and Liz, and Scoot saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall this weekend and there is a great reference to Fraggle Rock, which is a little ironic now that I read this blog. So many years went by without me thinking of Fraggle Rock and now two references in three days. Needless to say, Scooter didn't get the joke. Between that and Ryan getting his permit, I too am feeling old....wish I had a paycheck to go with it. Big hugs for you and Jen, Love you mucho,
it goes without saying that i think of you all the time. i wish there was something substantial i could do to make you feel better. until i think of something...i highly recommend checking this out....

Hey there Steve. Just wanted to send some positive vibes your way. It must be maddening waiting to get on with your life again...you are in our thoughts and prayers for A SPEEDY recovery from the damn chemo. It is most certainly poison but it does the trick...with some nasty side effects, as you well know. I just keep looking at that picture of you running at Seattle U...and knowing you will be in the race again soon! Again, I don't even know you but from what I have heard if anyone can rise above this mess, it is you. Keep your spirits high, Steve. You CAN do this..
On a lighter note, how about some new books and/or music? Anything in particular? All of us in the Parise house are willing to support you in this journey.
Peace,
Karen

Hey Steve!
How's it going man? What music are you listening to today? I'm writing from a comp at the guitar shop where I work in Chicago. Jeez it's about time I started using blogger...you're like problogger! Miss you.

Steven, now that you are able to drive how about I send Ryan down to visit once he gets his permit and you can white knuckle it down the road with him. I still have memories of the ten months I spent with you slamming my foot into the passenger floor like there was a brake there. It paid off though since you have not had an accident or ticket, that I know of. He has bugged me daily to let him drive for at least a year. Little does he know that once he learns he'll be doing my grocery shopping and other errands. Mom
Hey Brother,
The tag on my tea this morning read, "Its not life that matters, its the courage that we bring to it."
Love you
So these doctors may not be able to give you what you need to feel better but I think I found a solution. An Andy Bernard clip of the day.
You may actually be familiar with this particular issue:

this one is awesome too. I think I just replayed it at least six times:

Hey Steven, Tom told me you got a "care package" from SU's track team which is so incredible. Just wanted to acknowledge how impressed I was to any of you guys and gals who were part of sending that. Thanks.
I'll be down Sat. night after Brophy's lacrosse state game. With a big winning smile I hope.
Amie, you are so close to a masters and you are getting your inspiration from tea bags. Maybe you should have saved the money you spent on grad school and just gone out for chinese a little more often.
SU track team, pretty damn cool.
Hey Moke,
Just read about SU and I couldn't be more impressed. Truly a great gesture by remarkable friends. Are you coming in for Rye's game Saturday? Billy and I plan to go. I've been baby sitting with Mackenna. What a good baby and another beauty. Billy and Kate were over last night. I hope they will be able to join us in San Diego. Lynn and I leave for CT May 20th for Carter's graduation. She has been accepted at Santa Clara, Layola Marymount and U of Miami. I forgot to say the blanket you and Jen sent for Mackenna was the cutest I've seen, so soft and colorful. She loves to stare at the colors.
Stay positive Moke, this too will end. My love to you and Jen.
Hi Steve,
I am writing to see how you are getting along. Let us know how you are doing. I love you lots. Is there anything that I can do for you? I know that this has been a very difficult time for you. It takes a great deal of faith and strength to endure what you are having to endure. I pray that God will give you the strength that you need. I am so very proud of you. I know that you are a fighter. Keep blogging, and keep in touch.
Love,
Aunt Diane
